Customer ordered 480 individually wrapped cookies from the bakery I work at. Coworker and I spent 3 hours today just wrapping them.
The flimsy plastic tabs that cover the sticky part of the wrappings got fucking everywhere because of the static. I’m sure at least one is going to be forever melted to the bottom of one of our baking pans.

What a tremendous waste of plastic.

We had to do shit like this at my old job. The static on those sticky strip things is no joke

I hope you clock those number to update your prices lol

Bring them around back please…

For the staticky bits – lay a line of tape down in a circle so there’s a sticky side and put them there, rinse repeat when it gets full.

…This isn’t a GAC, lol….right?
Jokes aside, when I still worked at one we had a few orders like that and we had at least one person who’s job it was *exclusively* to do that. NOTHING else until that was done, because it was so time consuming.

Mmmmm. Thermoset plastics😋

respectfully, that’s 80 cookies an hour each. even if you only do 3 cookies a minute that’s still 540 cookies in those three hours. what ratchet ass gear do y’all have for wrapping?
edit: my math was for one person, 3 cookies a minute x 2 people = 6 cookies a minute x 60 minutes = 360 cookies per hour x 3 hours = 1080 cookies.
with our janky sealer our pastry chef can knock out 10-12 per minute easily, even with the adhesive baggies you can probably hit 5-8 without working too hard

Today we baked off 500 sugar cookies and individually wrapped them to hand out tomorrow. I feel your pain. This is on top of our normal corporate dining tech company breakfast and lunch programs lol
Though we wrapped them in little paper baggies with a *insert abc tech company* sticker logo to secure it.

Is it just me or do those cookies look significantly overdone..

We impulse seal them at the bakery when they are meant for wrapping. Having the sticky tape sounds awful!

It took you 45 seconds to wrap each cookie?

Don’t worry, they’ll cancel the order tomorrow an hour before they’re set to pick up.

By any chance would you be in LA and hiring. Lost my job months back and would do this regularly 😭 pretty sure I could wrap these static generating lil shits faster lol, no offense.
